At Garnish we believe it is our responsibility to be conscientious and play an active role to reduce our ecological footprint and support the vibrancy and continued success of our local economy. It is our goal to take a sustainable approach to the creation of beautiful products and always be aware of how our decisions impact society and the environment. Here is a list of some of the steps we take to be sustainable
Low-impact materials
We use many organic and sustainably produced materials whenever possible such as organic cotton, bamboo, soy, and hemp.
Local resources and production
All our production is done locally supporting jobs in the sewing and pattern making fields. This also cuts down on the fuel needed to ship the finished products to us. We use local businesses to supply many of our sustainable fabrics and to fulfill our printing needs.
Quality and durability
We offer all alterations and repairs in our shop prolonging the lifecycle of Garnish products.
Energy efficiency/non toxic products
We use energy efficient products to heat and light our shop and all-natural cleaning products.
Reuse, Reduce and Recycle
All excess fabric and scraps are kept for reuse for future embellishments or to make accessories. We also donate unused fabric scraps to local school art departments. We recycle anything and everything we can!
Fuel Emissions
When possible we try to bike, walk, or use public transport to get to work.
Social responsibility
We regularly donate to auctions for charities and schools. Please contact us if your non-profit needs a donation for your next event.
